Ahead of its release on February 16, 2027, Sony has announced that God of War Laufey preorders will go live on September 29. The Standard Edition will be available in both physical and digital formats, but the Deluxe Edition will be a digital exclusive. Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but Sony typically charges $70 for a regular version of its game and $80 for a deluxe edition. We’ll update this post as soon as the official prices are live.

Developer Sony Santa Monica also revealed a new weapon that Faye can wield: the Serpent Bow. An enchanted weapon, it can unleash a volley of arrows quickly, or you can hold down the aim trigger to unleash a precision bolt that also strikes from a longer range. If an enemy is hit with one of these arrows, their movement or ability to strike will be impaired, and Faye can follow up with melee attacks. You can even choose between rapid-fire, explosive detonations and multi-target arrows, making the Serpent Bow a versatile tool in battle.
God of War fans can expect even more from the franchise in the future, as a new Kratos-led game is coming after it and it will pick up where Laufey left off. A live-action TV series is also in development for Prime Video, and while actor Ryan Hurst is no longer playing the lead role due to an on-set injury, former WWE star Dave Bautista has stepped in to take over the part.
