‘Off Campus’
Prime Video’s No. 1 show right now is “Off Campus,” a steamy romantic drama that’s an adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s massively popular novels. It’s a glossy series that very much takes the yearning and intensity of hockey from “Heated Rivalry” and the format from “Bridgerton.” It might be an odd comparison on paper, but this series includes all the best elements from these beloved shows. In fact, Amazon executives had so much faith in the project that they officially renewed the show for season 2 months before season 1 even debuted.
“Off Campus” follows Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), a music student at Briar University, whose life becomes intertwined with Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli), the school’s star hockey player. After Garrett desperately needs help passing a class, he convinces Hannah to tutor him in exchange for helping her gain the attention of her crush. This fake arrangement soon grows more complicated as they spend more time together around campus, parties, hockey games, and their close-knit group of friends.

‘The Boys’
It’s sad to say, but “The Boys” is officially over. Yes, the season 5 finale is now streaming, meaning the show has come to an end. It will always hold a monumental place in the TV landscape for its boundary-pushing take on the superhero genre. This final season is noticeably darker and more urgent than previous outings, with a world that has completely spun out of control. One of Prime Video’s newest originals is “It’s Not Like That,” a grounded drama that follows families as they pick up the pieces after their lives are upended. The series was created and showrun by the screenwriting duo Ian Deitchman and Kristin Rusk Robinson. If their style feels familiar, it is because they have a proven track record for creating relatable stories about messy family dynamics, having previously written the 2010 romantic-comedy film “Life as We Know It” and spent years as writers and producers on NBC’s critically acclaimed family drama “Parenthood.”
