With May almost in our rearview mirror (it was a great month that scorched with The Punisher: One Last Kill, Daredevil: Born Again and more!) it’s not only time to get ready to enjoy the warmer climes of the summer but it’s time to stack your watchlist with all the great new movies and shows coming to Disney+ and Hulu in June.

Both streamers have released their lists of what’s coming—it’s a lot, and there’s something for everyone. The full list is below—and includes 65 new movies, sports events, live events and more—but to kick things off, Hulu’s highlights include a new workplace comedy, Not Suitable for Work (June 2) from Mindy Kaling, and a hilarious new British “wrong-com” starring Jemaine Clement called Alice and Steve (June 8). Additionally, Hulu delivers a 13th season of Love Island and, of course, it wraps up the month with the highly-anticipated final season of The Bear on June 25.

Meanwhile, just because the House of Mouse doesn’t have the quantity that Hulu does, Disney+ certainly has its trump card this month with James Cameron’s $1.5 billion blockbuster Avatar: Fire and Ash landing on June 24. It also rounds things out with the inclusion of a new Korean romantic drama, Doctor on the Edge, the controversial Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni drama It Ends With Us, and animated sports fantasy series Dragon Striker. Here’s June in all its glory.

Trivia challenge

From Marvel to Star Wars and beyond — can you identify these Disney+ originals from a single clue?

MarvelStar WarsAnimatedLive ActionDisney Classics

Which Disney+ Marvel series follows Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as they team up after the events of Avengers: Endgame?

Correct! The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered in March 2021 and explored Sam Wilson’s journey to accepting the Captain America mantle. The show also introduced John Walker as a controversial replacement Cap and brought back Baron Zemo in a big way.

Not quite — the answer is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. While WandaVision and Loki were also early Marvel Disney+ shows, this series specifically followed Sam and Bucky navigating a post-Blip world. It culminated in Sam fully embracing the Captain America identity.

Which Disney+ Star Wars series centers on a bounty hunter and his Mandalorian creed as he protects a mysterious child known as Grogu?

That’s right! The Mandalorian was the flagship launch series for Disney+ in November 2019 and became a cultural phenomenon largely thanks to Grogu, affectionately nicknamed ‘Baby Yoda’ by fans. It was the first live-action Star Wars TV series ever produced.

Close, but the answer is The Mandalorian. The Book of Boba Fett also features Mandalorian characters and even crossed over with The Mandalorian’s storyline, which made it easy to confuse — but the series following Din Djarin and Grogu is definitively The Mandalorian.

Which Disney+ animated series reimagines the classic fairy tale universe where Snow White, Cinderella, and other princesses live together in a shared apartment?

Correct! Tiana is the Disney+ animated series that picks up after The Princess and the Frog and features Tiana going on new adventures in the bayou. The show brings back the vibrant New Orleans setting and soulful music style that made the original film so beloved.

Not quite — Tiana is the animated Disney+ series that follows Princess Tiana in a new adventure. While Baymax! is also a Disney+ animated show, it focuses on the lovable healthcare robot from Big Hero 6. Tiana expands on the world introduced in The Princess and the Frog.

Which Disney+ original movie follows a young woman who discovers she has magical healing hair after being raised in isolation by a mysterious villain?

Well done! Disenchanted is the 2022 sequel to the beloved 2007 film Enchanted, reuniting Amy Adams as Giselle and Patrick Dempsey as Robert. The film features a new magical world called Monrolasia and sees Giselle accidentally turn into a classic fairy tale villain.

That’s not it — the answer is Disenchanted, the 2022 sequel to Enchanted. While Hocus Pocus 2 is also a popular Disney+ live-action sequel, it follows the Sanderson Sisters returning to Salem. Disenchanted revisits Giselle’s story as she grapples with a magical wish gone wrong in suburbia.

In which Disney+ Marvel series does Kamala Khan discover she has crystalline energy powers and idolizes Captain Marvel?

Spot on! Ms. Marvel introduced Kamala Khan to the MCU in 2022, played by Iman Vellani. The series gave Kamala energy-based hard light powers rather than her comic book stretching abilities, a change that tied into her Inhuman heritage in the comics but was altered for the MCU continuity.

Not quite — the correct answer is Ms. Marvel. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is another Marvel Disney+ series from the same era, but it follows Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who inherits Hulk-like powers. Ms. Marvel is specifically Kamala Khan’s origin story and a love letter to superhero fandom.

Which Disney+ Star Wars series is set five years before Rogue One and follows a rebellious spy working to ignite the spark of the Rebellion?

Excellent! Andor premiered in 2022 and follows Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, reprising his role from Rogue One. The series is widely praised for its grounded, politically rich storytelling and is considered one of the best Star Wars projects ever made by critics and fans alike.

The correct answer is Andor. While The Bad Batch and Ahsoka are also set in the Star Wars galaxy during the Imperial era, Andor specifically serves as a prequel to Rogue One. Its gritty, espionage-driven tone sets it apart from most other entries in the Star Wars universe.

Which Disney+ documentary series goes behind the scenes of Walt Disney World’s most iconic rides, exploring their history and creation?

Correct! The Imagineering Story is a six-episode documentary series that premiered with Disney+ at launch in 2019. It chronicles the history of Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative force behind Disney’s theme parks and attractions, from Walt’s original vision to modern-day projects.

The answer is The Imagineering Story. One Day at Disney is another Disney+ documentary series, but it profiles different Disney employees across various divisions rather than focusing on theme park design. The Imagineering Story is the definitive deep-dive into how Disney’s parks were built.

Which Disney+ original series follows a high school student who secretly lives a double life as a pop star named Hannah Montana?

You got it! Hannah Montana originally aired on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011 and launched Miley Cyrus to global superstardom. The complete series is available to stream on Disney+, making it easy for a whole new generation to discover Miley Stewart’s double life as a pop sensation.

The answer is Hannah Montana. While Lizzie McGuire and That’s So Raven are also beloved Disney Channel classics available on Disney+, it’s Hannah Montana that features the secret pop star double life storyline. The show ran for four seasons and became one of Disney Channel’s highest-rated series ever.

Not Suitable for Work (June 2, Hulu)

Mindy Kaling’s twenty-somethings will do anything for the corner office

From Running Point writer/creator (and actress) Mindy Kaling, Not Suitable for Work is a bright single-camera workplace comedy that follows five career-obsessed twenty-something entry-level Manhattan office schlubs, each vying for corporate success, clout, financial independence, and maybe personal happiness if any of them can find the time. Early reaction has described it as a cool “hang-out” show, and it stars newcomers Ella Hunt (Dickinson), Avantika (Mean Girls), Will Angus, and Jack Martin (Pizza Movie), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), and SNL‘s Ego Nwodim in recurring roles.

The series premieres with three episodes on June 2, then releases two more each week through June 23.

The Bear: Season 5 (June 25, Hulu)

Order up: the kitchen closes for good after eight final episodes

The final season of FX’s 21-time Emmy-winning restaurant drama will arrive like a tasting menu all at once on June 25, and the internet is already bracing for impact. Jeremy Allen White returns as Carmy, leading the award-winning cast that includes Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Lionel Boyce, as the series wraps up what has been one of the most intense, emotionally exhausting, and widely loved dramas in recent years. Season five is said to pick up the morning after the events of season 4, with the crew discovering that Carmy has quit the restaurant business altogether, leaving The Bear in their hands. All eight episodes drop at once on June 25.
